Job description
As an Allround Maintenance Technician, you are responsible for maintaining and improving production installations within a food processing environment. You work in shifts and ensure that machinery operates safely and efficiently at all times.
Your responsibilities include:
- Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on machines and installations
- Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical breakdowns
- Supporting production to minimise downtime
- Inspecting installations and identifying improvement opportunities
- Working according to strict safety and hygiene standards
- Collaborating with operators and fellow technicians
- Registering maintenance activities and reporting findings
What you bring
To succeed in this role, you combine technical knowledge with a hands-on mindset and a proactive attitude:
- Technical qualification (minimum Red Seal level or equivalent)
- 2–5 years of experience in a maintenance role within production or manufacturing
- Knowledge of mechanical and basic electrical systems
- Experience in food or process industry is an advantage
- Willingness to work in a 2-shift system
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently
- Strong sense of responsibility and safety awareness
- Basic English and Afrikaans communication skills
