High Voltage Maintenance Specialist

Our client operates a large industrial site in the Netherlands where the reliability and availability of high-voltage installations are critical to daily operations. As a High Voltage Maintenance Specialist, you contribute directly to the integrity, safety, and continuity of the electrical installations by performing preventive and corrective maintenance. You work in a dynamic industrial environment where safety, coordination, and technical expertise are essential, and where high-voltage systems support multiple production facilities on site.

Description

As a High Voltage Maintenance Specialist, you are (jointly) responsible for all switching activities on the industrial site. You are able to independently prepare, write, or verify switching instructions and ensure that electrical installations are safely isolated and released for work.

Your responsibilities include:

• Performing corrective and preventive maintenance, as well as modifications and adjustments to installations in accordance with applicable guidelines and instructions;
• Locating, analysing, and resolving complex electrical faults, including consultation on appropriate follow-up actions;
• Carrying out switching activities and coordinating safe isolations for internal installations and external clients on the site;
• Managing external communication and coordination related to safety measures and switching activities;
• Performing measurements on high-voltage installations;
• Supervising contractors during maintenance and project activities;
• Assessing faults and participating in turnarounds and more complex projects;
• Understanding and operating plant-specific control systems, including both hardware and software;
• Ensuring the execution of standard work processes, including administrative tasks in SAP;

• Preparing reports on completed work and aligning these with the responsible engineer.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you bring solid experience in high-voltage maintenance within an industrial environment, combined with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.

We require:

• A completed Red Seal qualification in a relevant technical field or equivalent;
• Several years of relevant experience and solid knowledge of installations in a comparable industrial environment;
• 5–10 years of work experience within the industrial sector;
• Certification according to NEN 3140 VP or IV/WV and NEN 3840 VP or IV/WV, or willingness to obtain these certifications;
• Ability to analyse complex faults and identify relationships between systems, installations, and associated software;
• A team-oriented attitude, with willingness to continue developing yourself and take responsibility;
• English and Afrikaans proficiency with a willingness to learn Dutch;
• Leadership qualities and a problem-solving approach to technical challenges.

• Base salary between €4.357 – €5.000 gross per month (based on experience);
