Technical Draftsman – Heavy Lifting and Transport

As a Design Engineer / Technical Draftsman at our client in the region of Utrecht, you will be involved in technically demanding and varied assignments that truly make a difference.

Technical Draftsman – Heavy Lifting and Transport
In this role, you will create technical drawings and calculations that are essential for successful heavy lifting and transport operations. Your work is diverse: from drafting construction layouts and designing modifications to preparing lifting plans and detailed 2D/3D working drawings. You will also take measurements on-site and collaborate closely with colleagues, suppliers, and clients to ensure that projects are delivered safely and efficiently.
- Translate project concepts into clear, executable technical solutions.
- Provide detailed engineering support during project preparation and execution.
- Coordinate technical input with colleagues and suppliers to ensure project alignment.
- Contribute to the development of safe and efficient engineering standards.
- Document calculations, risk assessments, and supporting technical reports.
What You Bring
We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work and thrives in a team environment. To succeed in this role, you bring:
- A completed Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Strong experience with AutoCAD; knowledge of 3D CAD is an advantage.
- Previous experience in a similar engineering or drafting role.
- Knowledge of cranes, lifting technology, and construction methods.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving mindset.
- Fluency in English and Afrikaans, with willingness to learn Dutch.
- A valid driver’s license.
