Job description
As a Process Operator, you are responsible for monitoring, controlling, and optimising a continuous production process. You work closely with your team to ensure smooth operations across shifts.
Your responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and adjusting production processes from the control room;
- Performing inspections and interventions on the plant floor;
- Identifying and resolving process disturbances;
- Conducting structured shift handovers with colleagues;
- Prioritising maintenance and operational tasks with your team leader;
- Recording process data and reporting deviations;
- Working in a 5 shift system;
- Contributing ideas to improve efficiency and reliability;
- Rotating between different workstations within the plant.
What you bring
To succeed in this role, you are a technically strong and safety-driven operator with a solid trade background:
- Red Seal Trade Qualification (e.g. Fitter, Millwright, Boilermaker or equivalent);
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an industrial or process environment
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, process flows, and plant operations
- Proven ability to monitor, control, and adjust production processes
- High awareness of safety standards and procedures in heavy industry
- Hands-on mentality with the ability to work both in the control room and on the plant floor
- Proactive approach – you take initiative and intervene when required
- Ability to work effectively in shift-based teams
- English and Afrikaans proficiency with a willingness to learn Dutch.
