Mechanical Engineer / Technical Draftsman

Our client, a global player in hydraulic and electric dredging systems, designs and manufactures high-performance dredging pumps, amphibious excavators, and cutter dredgers used in projects from Dubai to Colombia.
We are looking for a motivated Mechanical Engineer / Technical Draftsman to strengthen their team and contribute to the development of innovative hydraulic equipment.

Mechanical Engineer / Technical Draftsman
As a Mechanical Engineer / Technical Draftsman, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving hydraulic dredging equipment and related systems. You will work on both new developments and customer-specific modifications, turning functional requirements into practical designs ready for production.
Your key tasks will include:
- Creating and updating detailed 3D and 2D drawings in SolidWorks.
- Translating conceptual designs into manufacturing-ready documentation.
- Supporting the production team with technical advice during fabrication and assembly.
- Participating in prototype testing and product improvement.
- Conducting design calculations and preparing bills of materials.
You will be part of a dedicated team where short communication lines ensure that your work directly influences the end product — real machines used worldwide.
What you Bring
You are an enthusiastic and inventive engineer who enjoys designing robust, practical solutions. You take ownership of your work and thrive in a fast-paced, technical environment. You bring:
- A completed Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Experience with 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks.
- A hands-on mindset and passion for mechanical systems and hydraulics.
- Strong communication skills in English and Afrikaans; willingness to learn Dutch.
- A proactive attitude and curiosity for new technologies.
