Maintenance Technician–High Voltage Specialist

Our client operates a key site in Delfzijl where high-voltage switching and maintenance are vital to the operation of industrial facilities. As a Maintenance High Voltage Specialist, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team that ensures availability, reliability, and safety of critical installations.

Maintenance Technician - High Voltage Specialist
In this critical role, you will oversee high-voltage maintenance and switching operations across multiple plants on the industrial site in Delfzijl. You will draft and review switching plans, coordinate isolation procedures, and communicate with external and internal stakeholders to ensure safe work environments.
Key responsibilities:
- Execute corrective and preventive maintenance on high-voltage installations
- Draft and validate switching instructions and documentation
- Carry out electrical testing and fault analysis
- Supervise external contractors and ensure compliance with safety procedures
- Contribute to shutdowns, turnarounds, and complex electrical projects
- Ensure data accuracy and planning updates in SAP maintenance systems
You’ll work closely with engineers and production teams, acting as the key point of contact during high-risk operations and major maintenance events.
What You Bring
You are a dedicated technician with deep knowledge of high-voltage installations. You take ownership, work well under pressure, and understand the importance of procedures and documentation in an industrial setting.
To qualify for this role, you should have:
- Ability to assess complex electrical faults and safety-critical conditions
- Experience with software-based and hardware-based control systems
- Familiarity with SAP or equivalent maintenance systems
- A Red Seal qualification or equivalent technical diploma in Electrical Engineering or higher
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in high-voltage operations
- Certified or willing to be certified in NEN 3140 VP/IV/WV and NEN 3840 VP/IV/WV
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English – and motivated to learn Dutch
