With you on board, our client’s advanced sorting and dismantling installation will run at peak performance. This facility dismantles, sorts, and bundles packaging materials almost entirely automatically, ready for reuse by suppliers. As an E&I Engineer and Work Preparator, you will play a vital role in keeping this innovation-driven, sustainable process reliable and efficient.

Engineer (E and I) / Work Preperator

In this combined role, you will be responsible for both engineering and work preparation tasks within the Electrical & Instrumentation domain. Your responsibilities include:

  • Preparing, coordinating, and supervising E&I maintenance and project activities.
  • Optimizing processes and proactively identifying, analyzing, and resolving disruptions.
  • Developing and improving inspection and maintenance plans for reliability.
  • Registering performance data and recommending system improvements.
  • Managing spare parts and technical documentation, including manuals and instructions.
  • Drafting and reviewing Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and other technical drawings.
  • Guiding external technicians and coordinating support services.
  • Collaborating with the Production Manager and technical team to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency.

 

What You Bring

To succeed in this role, you combine technical expertise with structured preparation and coordination skills. We are looking for:

  • A Red Seal Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a production or processing environment in a similar role.
  • Expertise in maintenance methodologies and E&I systems.
  • Strong knowledge of control systems, instrumentation, and risk analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English and Afrikaans (willingness to learn Dutch is an advantage).
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset, flexible working approach, and strong teamwork skills.

The client is a modern and sustainable company that processes slaughter by-products into high-quality, protein-rich raw materials and fats for the animal feed industry (Feed, Petfood, Aquafeed), Fertilizers and Biofuels. Feather meal, blood meal, poultry meal and fat are produced on various production lines. The client foresees healthy growth in the coming years.
