Lead Building Management Systems (BMS) Technician

Our client operates in the Amersfoort/Utrecht region and is looking for a Lead Building Management Systems (BMS) Technician to take ownership of maintenance and performance at some of the region’s most important utility buildings — from hospitals to municipal and educational institutions.
As the technical backbone of the site, you’ll coordinate, plan, and guide operations for high-profile contracts. From managing partners and subcontractors to interacting directly with the client, this role offers both autonomy and teamwork. You’re the one who ensures every system runs safely and efficiently — and when a complex problem arises, you won’t hesitate to step in.

Lead Building Management Systems (BMS) Technician
You will be the central figure at your assigned location, responsible for coordinating M&R (Measurement and Control) installations and operations. Your day-to-day tasks will include:
- Operational leadership for the technical service team at large utility buildings
- Planning and coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance
- Acting as the point of contact for the client on site, including managing service offers and upgrade proposals
- Collaborating with Contract Managers, Service Coordinators, and subcontractors to ensure optimal delivery
- Solving problems, managing escalations, and overseeing system improvements
- Ensuring technical documentation and reporting are up to date

Who You Are
To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be both technically savvy and professionally confident. We’re looking for someone who thrives under responsibility and believes in team success.
- Red Seal qualification in Millwright, Instrumentation, Fitter, or equivalent in mechanical systems
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC or Building Services maintenance
- Experience in a client-facing role or coordination function within technical service delivery
- Strong communication and reporting skills
- VCA-VOL certification or willingness to obtain it
- Valid driver’s license (Code B)
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans and comfortable working in or learning Dutch
